In 2017, Enchanted Valley Carnival, found its new home in Mumbai. The two-day, multi-genre festival promised to showcase the best of Trance, House and Bollywood, all under one roof. It definitely didn’t let us down, and the Tribe welcomed EVC to Mumbai with open arms.

Here’s our round-up.

Day 1

Day 1 of EVC went down as a monumental one in the history of Trance in India, as the crowded shuffled excitedly as it waited for heavyweights Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Marlo on the  Electronic Family Stage. Homegrown artists Snow Flakes and Get Massive did an exceptional job to get the party grooving, setting up the vibe for Ruben De Ronde and Rodg, who were performing a special B2B set as they dropped progressive tunes from their latest album Togetherr.

As the evening intensified with Marlo, Markus Schulz, and finally Armin Van Buuren gracing the stage, it was pretty evident that trance is alive and kicking in India. Trance is more than a genre — it’s a feeling that binds people together. There’s something truly beautiful about thousands of people singing a track in unison — which is exactly what happened as each of these DJs dropped crowd favorites throughout the evening. Armin, who has performed in India several times over the years, still commands a fan base that just can’t seem to get enough of him. His set was nothing short of a journey through trance, teaching people to ‘Be In The Moment’.

Day 2

Day 2’s lineup was unconventional, bringing together Electro-Pop, Tropical House, Bass, and Bollywood. It’s safe to say, Sunday was all about the hits! Superstars such as Hugel, Nucleya, Robin Schulz, DJ Chetas, and India’s man of the moment, Arijit Singh, all electrified the crowd. It was phenomenal to see the audience groove to Schulz’s ‘OK’ and ‘Headlights’ with just as much enthusiasm to homegrown favorites like Arijit Singh’s ‘Channa Mereya’. The audience was a true testament to how diverse India’s musical tastes are.

All in all – great production, diverse programming, and a venue located in the heart of Mumbai put EVC among our top concerts for the year. We can’t wait to see what EVC has in store for us next year.

Until then, enjoy the EVC Bollywood playlist here.
